William P. McLaughlin, 88, of Lyndhurst, formerly of Hoboken and Jersey City, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, New Jersey. Born in Hoboken. William proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1952 – 1954. He was a member of the Boccie Club in Secaucus and the American Legion. William was employed by I.M.L. Shipping in Elizabeth, New Jersey as a Transport Manager, retiring after many years in 1986. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Anne (nee English) McLaughlin, four brothers, James, Jack, Joseph and Thomas. Surviving is his loving wife, Karen, (nee McCullough), two cherished sons, William (Annamarie) and Michael (Laura), two endeared daughters, Karen Kinnison (Keith) and Angela Aluotto (Leonard) and one brother, Edward (Carol). He was the proud grandfather to Danielle, Vincent and Fiancé, Rosemarie, Michael, Cayla, Keith, Kristina and Gina Marie.
The Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, September 10, 2020, 10AM at Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Arlington, New Jersey. There will be no viewing prior to the funeral mass. Everyone is asked to gather at the church no later than 9:45AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, New Jersey. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, beginning at 4PM and concluding at 8PM at Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken. Parking available in rear of memorial home off Sixth Street.
