Walter L. Wilgocki Jr., 82 of Little Ferry, formerly of Hoboken, passed away peacefully August 7th, 2024.
Walter served in the US Army as a Private First Class during the Vietnam War. He was honored with a Good Conduct Medal and Expert Rifle Badge.
He was a truck driver for various trucking companies throughout the years, retiring from APA Transport in North Bergen.
An enthusiast for NY sports teams, Yankees, Giants and especially the Rangers. Game day, especially when spent with his daughters, Jeannine and Nicole, was one of his greatest joys as was golf with his buddies and breakfast with the boys.
Walter was predeceased by his beloved parents Walter Sr. and Phyllis (nee Bucci).
Survived by his cherished daughters Jeannine and Nicole and their mother Maureen.
Also survived by his sisters Lois O’Connor, Phyllis and brother Thomas and his wife Valerie, along with his nieces Shannon, Paige and nephew Jake.
He was a devoted and proud father to his daughters, a gentle soul with a deep love of family.
Walter never waivered in his beliefs or opinions and was always ready at the helm to help and take care of those he loved. He was bigger than life with an even bigger heart of gold.
Affectionately known as “Beans” to his buddies and “Rand McNally” and “Big Wally” to his family, he will be forever missed by many and remembered by all.
Visitation will be held at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home in Hoboken on Monday, August 12th, 2024 from 3pm to 8pm.
Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday August 13th, 2024 at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Hoboken at 10am.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
