Vincent “Jimmy” Valentino, Jr., 67, of Jersey City, passed away on November 2, 2021. Lifelong resident of Jersey City, he graduated from Ferris High School in 1973, where he was the first male enrolled in the home economics course. He translated those skills into the loving care of his home and family. Jimmy worked for the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission for 25 years, retiring as Maintenance Supervisor. Jimmy was a fishing enthusiast, collector and builder of HO model trains, and a skilled cook. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Moran) Valentino. Devoted father of Brendan Doohan and his wife Elizabeth Migliore of Jersey City, and Erin Capone and her husband Vincenzo of East Brunswick. Cherished grandfather of Leonardo Daniel Doohan, Raffaele Vincent Capone, and Julia Mary Capone. Dear brother of Anthony Valentino and his wife Patricia of Davenport, FL, and Carol O’Keeffe and her husband Brian of Lyndhurst. Predeceased by his parents Caroline (nee Messano) and Vincent Valentino of Jersey City. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family as well as cherished friends. Visitation at Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken, on Friday, November 5, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Liturgy from Holy Rosary Church, Jersey City, on Saturday, November 6, at 9:30 a.m. Interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
