Sergio DeCesare, 85, of North Bergen (formerly of Hoboken), entered into eternal life on October 5, 2025.  Predeceased by his beloved wife Maria DeCesare (2022).  Devoted father of Giovanni DeCesare, Serafina Valente, Porzia (Francesco) Talamo, and the late Maria Vicari (2016).  Cherished grandfather of Pierra, Maria, Jessica, Salvatore, Silvia, Maria, Sergio, Antonio, Marta, and Antonio, and great-grandfather of 13 beloved great-grandchildren.

Sergio was born in Molfetta Bari, Italy to Serafina (née Piccininni) and Giovanni B. DeCesare.  He emigrated to the United States in 1972, settling in Hoboken.  Sergio was a grave digger at Madonna Cemetery & Mausoleum, Fort Lee for many years, and a member of the Madonna Dei Martre Society.

Visitation Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken.  Parking is available in the rear of the funeral home off Sixth Street.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 308 Jefferson Street, Hoboken.  Sergio will be entombed with his wife at Madonna Cemetery & Mausoleum, 2070 Hoefley’s Lane, Fort Lee.
