Rose DeSantis, 68, passed away on November 6th, 2022, surrounded by her family. Rose was a recently retired court clerk for over two decades at the Bergen County Courthouse in Hackensack. Rose was born and raised in Hoboken, NJ and a longtime resident of Hasbrouck Heights, Bergenfield, and Jersey City, NJ.
Rose is survived by her beloved children, Joseph DeSantis, John DeSantis and his wife Nicole, her loving sister, Grace Filardi and her husband James, and her endearing nephew Matthew Filardi. Her three adoring grandsons, Anthony, Jack, and Nicholas were a great joy to her. She was loved by her brother and sister in laws, many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and cherished by her close friends that she considered family.
She is predeceased by her devoted husband, Anthony DeSantis, her loving parents Antonia and John Modugno, and her dear brother-in-law, Michael DeSantis, and his wife, Angela.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Rose’s name to the Scleroderma Research Foundation: srfcure.org. Rose lived valiantly with this autoimmune disease for many years and it did not keep her from enjoying loved ones and her life’s joys such as trips to Napa, Pennsylvania, the Jersey Shore, and casinos with her close friends, Broadway shows and concerts with her sister, and new adventures with her grandsons and children.
The funeral mass will be offered at Our Lady of Grace Church in Hoboken, NJ on Friday, November 11th, 2022 at 9:30 AM.
Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Township of Washington, NJ.
Visitation will be held at Failla-McKnight Memorial Home on Thursday, November 10th, 2022 beginning at 4PM and concluding at 8PM.
