Obituary

Richard E. Del Boccio, 84, of Hoboken passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025.

Richard was a graduate of St. Peters Prep High School later went onto accomplish his Bachler’s Degree from Saint Peters College and his Master’s degree at Seaton Hall University.

Richards first teaching assignment was at Demarest where he taught History and later, he was appointed Vice Principle at the Lang Kauf School #8, his following assignment was at the Calabrio School as Principle, where he shared 17 years of professionalism.

Richard loved serving the public in his beloved city of Hoboken.

He was a proud member of the Hoboken Elks Lodge #74 (For some 49 years).

A political career very much admired by the Hoboken citizens began to evolve.

Richard became councilman at Large and later became councilman of the Second Ward, and with sincere vigor he accepted chairmanship of The Scholarship Committee for more than 10 years for the Hoboken Elks Logde.

Richard will also be remembered for his dedication and accomplishments with the Hoboken 911 memorial committee.

Surviving is his cherished and devoted wife of 62 years Victoria (nee) DePinto and two loving daughters, Ann Margaret and her husband David Bogdanos and Karen Del Boccio-Johnson and her husband Richard. His only son Joesph and his wife (Faye). And an endeared sister Louise Del Boccio who will miss him dearly.

He was predeceased by his only brother Joesph Del Boccio and his devoted parents Joseph and Ann nee Borelli.

A great joy in Richard’s life was being a grandfather “Pop Pop” to his only grandson Nicholas Bogdanos.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025 beginning at 2pm and concluding at 8pm.

The Funeral Mass will be offered at St Anns RC Church at 10am on Thursday, May 8th, 2025.

Entombment will follow at Fairview Mausoleum, Fairview NJ.
