Rev. Thomas E. Pendrick, Hoboken native, graduate of St. Peter’s Prep and St. Peter’s University died peacefully on September 15,2022 at Holy Name Hospital at the age of 58.
Upon completion of the program for priestly formation at Immaculate Conception Seminary at Seton Hall University where he earned a Master of Divinity degree, Fr. Tom was ordained a priest on May 24, 2003.
Fr. Tom’s first assignment after ordination was as parochial vicar at Our Lady of Peace Church in New Providence. He also served as Chaplain at Bergen Catholic High School, Paramus Catholic High School and Hackensack Medical Center. His most recent priestly assignments were at St. Joseph’s Church in Demarest and St. Mary’s Church in Dumont where he was serving at the time of his passing.
Fr. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Gerard and Mary (nee Duff). He is survived by brothers Gerard and Gary and a sister, Mary as well as 3 nephews, a niece and a grand-niece. Fr. Tom is also survived by 2 beloved uncles and a number of cousins.
Fr. Tom’s body will be received for viewing at St. Mary’s Church, Dumont on Wednesday September 21st at 2:00 pm. Viewing will conclude with Evening Prayer at 7:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, September 22nd in Fr. Tom’s home parish, Our Lady of Grace Church in Hoboken, NJ. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington where Fr. Tom will be laid to rest with his parents. Arrangements: Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, Dumont.
