Pina Giuffre Razza, born in Patti, Sicily Italy, on February 15, 1930, passed away peacefully on March 31st, 2025, at the age of 95.
She was the beloved wife of the late Gerrino Razza, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership until his passing in 2020.
In 1949, Pina immigrated to the United States with her mother and family, seeking refuge from war-torn Europe. It was in 1952, while working in a coat factory, that she met Gerrino, a restaurant cook, in an English night school class at Hoboken High School. They married, spending 68 years together.
Pina and Gerrino embarked on a successful journey in the restaurant business, opening their first restaurant in Manhattan. Over the years, they went on to own five restaurants, working tirelessly side by side. In 1980, they established their flagship restaurant, Gerrino’s, in Hoboken, NJ, which became a beloved establishment for over 30 years. It is also remembered as one of the first landmarks in Hoboken’s waterfront development, contributing to the city’s modern renaissance.
Described by many as elegant and glamorous, Pina had a warm, welcoming spirit that endeared her to all who knew her. In their retirement, she and Gerrino traveled extensively, creating lasting memories around the world and in their homes in Florida and Sicily.
Pina leaves behind her children, John Razza and Angelica LaBarbera; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, as well as a legacy of resilience, love, and dedication to family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at the St. Francis RC Church from 10AM to 11:30AM. The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30AM.
