Nicholas Mauro Belmonte, 69, of East Rutherford, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026.
Nicholas was raised in Hoboken and Weehawken before making his home in East Rutherford, where he lived with his family.
He was born on April 14, 1957, in Jersey City to Josephine Laura (née Maresca) and Nicholas Paul Belmonte.
Nicholas is survived by his beloved wife, Gina (née Lano); his son, Mathew; both who he loves so dearly; and his twin sister, Donna Marie, and niece Nicole whom he always looked out for with the devotion only a twin can know.
He owned and operated a Cafe called Sweet Stuff form many years. In his spare time, he was as graphic artist and photophore
Nicholas’s greatest joys in life included listening to Frank Sinatra and Frankie Valli and cheering for the New York Yankees and gardening . He recently wrote a book on baking and a children’s book titled Frankie the Firefly. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, and he was known as a truly comical guy whose love and laughter would be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken, NJ 07030.
Nicholas will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington Saturday.
