Nelly Rodriguez, 81, of Union City, NJ, peacefully transitioned to eternal life on July 24, 2025. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted daughter, Aileen Lara, and her cherished granddaughter, Jailyne Lara.

Nelly was preceded in death by the father of her children, Humberto Garo Santana (2022), and her beloved son, Humberto Garo, Jr. (2021).

Born in San Jose de la Matas, Dominican Republic, to Amadeus Rodriguez and Dolores Espinal Goris, Nelly courageously began a new chapter of her life when she emigrated to the United States. A resident of Union City for 49 years, she spent many of those years working as a seamstress in New York and New Jersey, contributing to her community with grace and perseverance.

Nelly’s legacy of unconditional love, quiet strength, and enduring resilience will forever be treasured by all who knew her.

Visitation Monday, July 28, 2025, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken.  Parking is available in the rear of the funeral home, off Sixth Street.  A Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM.  Entombment Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Avenue, Jersey City.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Nelly’s memory to the American Heart N.J.
