Miguel A. Negron, age 95, of Hoboken, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Migual was born in Utado, Puerto Rico and relocated to Long Island, New York in 1949. Later moving to Hoboken with his family in 1963, living there until his passing. Miguel will be remembered as the owner of The San Juan Bodega on first street between Garden and Park Avenue for more than 20 years. He was a proud veteran of the National Guard of Puerto Rico. Surviving is his loving wife of 69 years Nelly (nee Quinones), two cherished daughters Edith Vega and Ivette Smulders, and a brother Aliseo. He is the endeared father-in-law of Al Arezzo. A great joy in his life were his loving grandchildren, Benjamin M. Vega and his wife Gianna, Vanessa M. Vega, and Ashleigh M. Smulders, and his cherished great grandchild Katya. He was predeceased by a host of other siblings.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday at 11 A.M. at St. Francis R.C. Church, Hoboken. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will be held on Wednesday beginning at 2 P.M. and concluding at 7 P.M. at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Ave., Hoboken. Parking available at rear of memorial home off 6th Street.
