Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michele Serino on December 1, 2025. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 9, 1945 Michele brought joy and warmth to everyone she met.

Michele was a stay at home mom before beginning her illustrious career as a Human Resources Executive. Michele was an avid traveler, a Broadway buff, and an incredible dancer. Her zest for life was only outdone by her love for her family. Anyone who knew Michele knew that she was generous with her time, her warmth, and, most importantly, her food. Michele was an incredible cook and her recipes will live on in the kitchens of those who loved her most. Michele had the rare ability to make everyone she met feel seen and loved. Holidays were often filled with family, friends, and mere acquaintances for Michele welcomed anyone who needed a place to call home, if even for a day.

Michele was predeceased by Marge (DeRose) and Orazio “Sam” Serino, her beloved daughter Tanya, her sister Stanlee, and niece Tia. Michele is survived by her son Nickolas and his wife Lisa Goldsack, her daughter Johna Goldsack, and her sisters Alicia and Stephanie Serino and Stephanie’s husband David Jarret. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Corey and his wife Joanna Berghuys, Ash and their wife Carolyn Berghuys, Austin Berghuys, Jenna and her wife Chelsea Goldsack, Paige Goldsack, and Leigha Goldsack, as well her three “great grans” Rylan, Adriana, and Hayley Berghuys. She was affectionately known as Grams, Blonde Haired Grandma, and Nonna.

Her family was her greatest joy and she treasured every moment with them. While they will miss Michele for the rest of their lives, they are comforted in knowing that she is on her next great adventure with her daughter Tanya by her side.

Please join us for a celebration of Michele’s life at St. Francis Church, Hoboken, on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
