Michele Blakely (née Cusimano), 77, of Whiting, NJ, formerly of Hoboken, NJ, passed away on February 20, 2026.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, and raised in Hoboken, Michele lived a life centered on love, friendship, and dedication. She was the beloved wife of the late Haywood Blakely and a devoted mother to Leonard Blakely. She was the dear sister of Andrea Papa and her husband, Angelo, and a cherished aunt to Michael Lynch and Michele Lynch, and great-aunt to Derek Lynch. She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew Cusimano, and Anthony and Rose Laino.
Michele enjoyed a long and dedicated career as an Administrative Clerk with the City of Hoboken, where she was known for her reliability and strong work ethic.
Above all, Michele was a deeply caring and warm-hearted person. She treasured time spent talking and laughing with her closest friends, always bringing warmth and good humor to every conversation. She devotedly loved her dear dog, Hunter, who was her constant companion and a source of great comfort and joy.
Michele was an enthusiastic sports fan, proudly cheering on her beloved New York Yankees. She also greatly enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City, where she found fun, relaxation, and many happy memories over the years.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and the love she so freely gave to her family and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church, 308 Jefferson Street, Hoboken, NJ. Her cremains will be placed alongside her beloved husband at Holy Cross Mausoleum.
