Obituary

Michael Andrew Gemignani passed away on April 7th, 2025 at the age of 98 following a brief illness.

He was born on December 17th, 1926 in Union City, New Jersey, to Armando and Lucia Gemignani.

As a young man, Michael served his country with distinction—first in the First Cavalry Division during the Korean War and later in the Fourth Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. Over his 40-year military career, he was stationed in locations from Europe to Saudi Arabia. 

Michael had a deep appreciation for art, particularly the French Impressionist painters Monet and Van Gogh. His love for reading was well-known, and he frequently exchanged mystery novels with his neighbor, Carol. He was also passionate about history and politics and will be remembered for his deep and abiding love of country.

Michael will be deeply missed by his neighbors, Joseph and Carol Sivo, and by his former doctor and friend, Dr. Mei Ling Yee, along with her two children, who knew him well.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Michael’s memory.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 12th, 2025 beginning at 10AM at the St. Ann’s RC Church. 

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, NJ.
