Obituary

Michael A. Taglieri passed away at Jersey City Medical Center of natural causes on Wednesday November 18, 2020.

He was born in Jersey City to the late Paul Taglieri and late Florence Rubbinaccio-Spagnoli and was a lifelong resident of Hoboken, NJ.

Michael was a graduate of Hoboken High School, Class of 1965, where he excelled as a member of the Redwings Football Team.  In March of 1973, Michael joined the Hoboken Fire Department and served his beloved citizens of Hoboken for 25 years until the time of his retirement in June of 1998.  At the time of his retirement Michael held the second highest rank of Battalion Chief.

Throughout his life, Michael made an enormous impact on the youth of Hoboken as a volunteer football, basketball and baseball coach for over 25 years.  He was also a major supporter and fan of the Hoboken Redwing Football and Baseball programs.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Louise Coniker-Taglieri; his stepfather Dominic Spagnoli, his children Paul and his wife Laurie, Marc and his wife Christine, and Darcy and her husband Christopher Bracco; his wonderful grandchildren Samantha, Zachary, Marc Jr., Juliana, Ava, and Luke.

The Memorial Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, November 21st at 3pm at Saint Francis Parish in Hoboken, NJ. Friends are relatives are respectfully invited to share in the celebration of the Eucharist and Michael’s life.
