Mary Ann Pepe (Lisa) 99 a lifelong resident of Hoboken passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home. Mary will best be remembered as a most devoted parishioner of St. Ann’s Church. Not only was Mary focused on her faith but she was a devoted charter member of the St. Ann’s guild there. She worked tirelessly making the famous zeppole not only the dough, not only the cooking, but also the selling. Mary was also a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and also worked with great effort for the Hoboken Republican Election Committee.
She was loved by all. A lifelong Hoboken resident Mary was a retired seamstress and a retired luncheon aid in the cafeteria at Hoboken High School. A devoted wife to the late Mauro Pepe, a loving mother to Annette Collins and her husband William Collins, daughter Lucretia Mauro and her only son Lawrence Pepe. She leaves to mourn her passing two brothers Joseph and Tony and her adored grandchildren JoAnne, Joseph, Annette, Willie, and Brie. Mary was also blessed with seven great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by two brothers Patrick and Michael and one sister Carmela Iocca.
The Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Ann’s R.C. Church at Hoboken on Tuesday, January 18th at 10AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington NJ. Visiting hours will begin at 2PM Monday, January 17th and conclude at 8PM. Parking available in the rear of the memorial home off 6th street.
