Magdalena Roman, 80, passed away on Friday, December 27th, 2024, at 6:32 PM at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson, NJ. She was the widow of Milton Rafael Roman Sr., with whom she shared 53 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Guánica, Puerto Rico, Magdalena moved to the United States on December 26, 1950. She worked at St. Mary’s as an Environmental Services employee for over 25 years.

She was a devout attendee of St. Joseph and St. Francis churches. Magdalena cherished crocheting hats and blankets for her loved ones and treasured spending time with her family, including her four children, 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Magdalena was a kindhearted, strong, and humorous soul who made everyone feel welcome. Her loving nature, radiant smile, and infectious laughter brought joy to everyone she met and filled rooms with warmth.

Magdalena’s memory will live on through her children: daughter Maria Roman, Melinda Roman-Casillas and her husband, Carlos Casillas; son Milton Rafael Roman Jr. and his wife, Jeanette Roman; and daughter Jeanette Roman. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30th, 2024, at Failla Memorial Home located at 533 Willow Ave, Hoboken, NJ 07030 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

The Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at St. Joseph Church 61 Monroe St, Hoboken, NJ 07030 beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Following the mass, Magdalena will be laid to rest at Weehawken Cemetery 4000 Bergen Turnpike, North Bergen, NJ 07047.
