Luigi Percontino, born on April 16th, 1948, in Monte San Giacomo, Italy, passed away after a fulfilling life, survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Rosa, who will miss him dearly. Luigi immigrated to the United States in 1967, with his family and began his career in construction while living in Hoboken, NJ. He returned to Italy to marry Rosa Fornino on July 22nd, 1970.

In 1981, Luigi moved to Edison, New Jersey, with his wife and children, where he worked for General Motors in Linden, NJ, for 30 years. He later retired to Florida, where he spent the remainder of his life.

Luigi leaves behind his cherished children, Angela, Nico, Michael, son in-laws Ben and Charles, and daughter in-law Amy, along with his loving four grandchildren, Brett, Jaclyn, Mason, and Ana; His brothers Matteo and Antonio; His sisters Rosa and Concetta and his in-laws.

His hobbies included playing cards, gardening, making his own wine, baking bread, making homemade tomato sauce, and crafting homemade sausage. He loved walking, hiking, and immersing himself in nature. Spending quality time with family and friends whether in person or on the phone brought him joy

His knowledge in construction was instrumental in teaching his sons trade skills which later inspired his youngest son to start his very own handy-man business.  Luigi always made himself available for home improvement projects for his family and friends.  This was a win-win for all, it brought Luigi joy when seeing how the transformation brought happiness to them.

A devout Catholic, Luigi attended daily Mass, always praying for those in need of healing. Luigi’s kind-hearted, loving, generous, free-spirited, endearing self will be treasured and missed by those whom he touched. His grandchildren, great-nieces, and nephews have found memories which they will cherish.
