Carmela (Lina) Salvemini, 94, of Hoboken, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Vincent (2018) and her son, Mauro Salvemini. She is survived by her loving daughter, Martha Burkhardt. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Maria Petruzella in Italy. She is survived by her four dearest grandchildren, Melanie (Christopher) Plaza, Lauren (Giancarlo) Sarracino, Kevin (Melissa) Burkhardt, and Daniel (Ashley) Burkhardt. She is also survived by her cherished great grandchildren, Meadow (Trevor) Navarro, Dakota and Skylar Plaza, Giovanni, Giuseppe, and Graziella Sarracino, and Quinn and Kaden Burkhardt. Also survived by her daughter-in-law, Carol Salvemini.  Lina will be dearly missed by her beloved family and friends.

Lina was born on June 25, 1930 in Molfetta, Italy. She immigrated in 1949 from Molfetta to Hoboken, where she permanently resided. She was a homemaker, dedicating her life to her family.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2-6 PM, at Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken, NJ 07030. Parking is available in the rear of the funeral home off Sixth Street.  The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 30, 10:30 AM, at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, 308 Jefferson Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030.  Lina will be entombed with her husband at Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington, NJ.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Lina’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN; www.stjude.org.
