It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen “Kathy” Van De Velde (née Brookes), a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, on September 21, 2025.

Kathy served her community with compassion as a Registered Nurse for 32 years. She will be remembered for her tenacity, strength, nurturing spirit, and her famous Thanksgiving stuffing.

She is survived by her daughters, Shannon Theobald and Beth Van De Velde; her son, Raymond Van De Velde; her grandchildren, Victoria, Anna, Shannon & Luis Perez, Raeline Hemenes, and Jahmeer Frazier; and her great-grandchildren, Melody Camilo, Omari Iniguez, and Elias Barbosa. She is also survived by her brothers, Jan Brookes, Dan Brookes, and Howard Miller, and by her sister, Jacqueline Brookes-Hanson.

Visitation Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken. A Blessing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday between 3:00 PM & 5:00 PM. Cremation is private.
