John L. DeRose, 79, a lifelong Hoboken resident passed away on May 31, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Beloved husband of 58 years to Helen (née Becker).  Loving father of John DeRose, Jr. and his wife, Joan Campion, and Jordan DeRose.  Cherished grandfather of Jordan, Jr., Sofia, Lucia and John M. DeRose.  Endeared brother of Elizabeth DeRose, Lynn Fusco and Theresa Schafer.

John was born March 2, 1947 to Margaret (née Latierno) and Ferdinand DeRose.  He was a proud lumberman; at 19 years old John began his career at Dykes Lumber in Weehawken.

A celebration of John’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken, NJ.  The Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, June 4, 2026, 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s R.C. Church, 704 Jefferson Street, Hoboken, NJ.  John will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ.
