James Monaco Sr., 59, of Hoboken, New Jersey, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Victoria Monaco (nee Del Rosso), and their two children, Victoria and James Jr. James also leaves behind his three dogs, Bayley, Buddy, and Brock, as well as his cat Toby, and his grand dog, Rocky. His sister, Kathy Reynolds, and numerous nieces and nephews mourn his loss. James will be reunited in heaven with his mother Catherine, father Frank, and his beloved dog, Champ.
In his early career, James worked for Joe Mannino. Later, he joined the Hoboken Board of Education, where he served for an impressive 41 years until his retirement in 2024. Despite his retirement, James’s passion for work persisted, leading him to establish a new business line at General Lumber this year until his passing.
A celebration of James’s life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken. Cremation is private.
