James F. Caruth, 84, of Weehawken, NJ, passed away on August 28, 2026.  Beloved husband of 56 years to Agnes (née McGowan).  Loving father of James Neil Caruth and his wife Denisse, Jon Caruth, Stacey Oberhauser and her husband George.  Cherished grandfather of Jay and Brianna Caruth.

James was born in Union City to Anne (née Rainey) and James Caruth.  He worked for Bankers Trust Company, New York City for many years. In his spare time, James enjoyed coaching basketball with the Weehawken Recreation Department.

A celebration of James’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken.  Parking is available in the rear of the funeral home off Sixth Street.  The Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, September 2,2026 at 10:30 AM at St. Lawrence R.C. Church, 22 Hackensack Avenue, Weehawken.  James will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington.
