Hillery J. Fontenot Jr. 75, of Hoboken, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2022 in the presence of his family. Hillery was the beloved husband of Maureen (nee Gaeta). He was the devoted father to Kevin, Justin and a daughter Hilary. A great joy in his life were his cherished grandchildren Spencer, Alex, and Damian. He is survived by his endeared siblings Danial, Dale, Juanita, and predeceased by David, Donnery, and Donald Paul. Hillery was born in Eunice, Louisiana to Bernita (nee Need) and Hilary J. Fontenot. He was a proud United States Army Veteran before pursuing a rewarding career as a Radiologist at St. Mary’s General Hospital and later appointed the Director of Radiology.
Hillery loved to laugh and always had a radiant smile on his face. He always strived to have a positive attitude no matter what obstacle he faced always having great faith in God. He enjoyed sports especially softball and tennis, and was a huge Yankees fan. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 beginning at 4 P.M. and concluding at 8 P.M. In observance of the Holy Triduum the Funeral Mass will be held on Easter Monday, on April 18th , 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church, Hoboken. A Private Cremation will follow. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, or St. Mary’s General Hospital in Passaic, NJ
