Obituary

Giuseppe Ciammaruconi, of Jersey City, passed away peacefully at home on September 9, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 86.  Born in Sermoneta, Italy, Giuseppe spent many of his childhood years living in the city of Rome. He served for 6 years as a naval officer in the Italian military and lived and worked in Ischia before returning to Rome. In 1969 he married and immigrated to the United States. He was a Union Laborer for Local 641 in Jersey City, retiring after more than 25 years.  Giuseppe was the beloved husband of 53 years to Lucia (nee Abramo), devoted father of Frank and wife Desiree and Daniela Ciammaruconi and her companion Kevin Colelli and cherished grandfather to Joseph, Lucas, and Giulia. Also survived by his endeared brother Mario of Sermoneta (Italy), many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends who became family. “Mister” as he was affectionately called by many, was a lifelong Lazio soccer fan, lover of food, wine, family, friends and nature. He resided in the Marion section of Jersey City for almost 50 years and especially enjoyed spending time entertaining people from all walks of life in his “shanty” and home. Well respected and known for his no nonsense, honest and unique character, Peppino’s greatest joy was his grandchildren, who will miss him dearly.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
