Giovanni Valente, 77, of Weehawken, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, Born in Molfetta, Italy to the late Michael Valente and Francesca ( nee Stoia), Giovanni Immigrated to the United States in 1969. He was an electrician and member of Local #164 working for Power Electric. He was also a member of Societa Unita in Union City, NJ.

Giovanni is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Marie ( nee Minervini ), his cherished children, Marcela Valente (John Dubois), Michael Valente ( Teresa) , John Paul Valente ( Yuly ), and an endeared sister in Italy Franca DiTerlizzi. A great joy in Giovanni’s life were his loving grandchildren Giancarlo, Sienna, Angelica, Giovanni.

The Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, April 28, 10:00AM  at St. Francis R. C Church, in Hoboken. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel  Mausoleum, in North Arlington, NJ.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00PM. at Failla Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken. Parking available in rear of memorial home off Sixth Street. Due to CDC Guidelines, visitors are asked to wear a face covering and practice social distancing. The family further requests no physical contact during the visitation as an extra precaution. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made to The St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Giovanni’s memory.
