Gerard J Ryan, 74, Of Bayonne passed away on Thursday, May 16th, 2024 at Bayonne Hospital.
He leaves behind his cherished wife of 46 years Camille Ryan nee Curcio.
Gerard was a retired teacher for The City of Hoboken for many years and later worked for The Newark International Airport Deicing Aircrafts.
He was the past President of the Hudson County UCP, Past Exalted Ruler of Hoboken Elks Lodge #74 and a long-time member of the Bayonne Knights of Columbus.
Gerard is survived by his two beloved children; Anne Carter (Michael) and John Ryan.
He will be missed by his sisters; Loretta Reustle, Susan Lally (Robert) and Elizabeth Conway (Lawrence).
He leaves behind three sisters in law; Ronda Ryan, Felicia Ryan and Madeline Sansevere (Charles), his mother in law Martha Curcio, and many nieces and nephews.
A great joy in Gerards life were his two granddaughters; Ella and Ryan.
Gerard was predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth Ryan and his father-in-law; Joseph Curcio.
He was also predeceased by four brothers; Rev. John Ryan, Thomas Ryan, Robert Ryan and Dennis Ryan.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday May 21st, 2024 beginning at 4:00pm and concluding at 8:00pm.
The funeral mass will be offered at St Ann’s RC Church on Wednesday May 22nd, 2024 beginning at 9:30am.
A private cremation will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton, NJ.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital in memory of Gerard.
