Gavina P. Tamborra, 78, of Union City passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 in the presence of her loving family at Jersey City Medical Center. Born in Sardegna, Porto Torres. Gavina migrated to Hoboken in 1972. She was a resident of Union City for the past twenty-two years. A retired seamstress with various clothing companies in Hudson County. She was predeceased by her husband, Fedele in 2005. Surviving are two sons, Giovanni and Hoboken Fire Captain, Antonio and his wife, Diane, two brothers, Giuseppe (Teresa) and Constantino, two brothers-in-law, Ferdinando and his wife Ippolita and Nicola and his wife Erica. She was the cherished grandmother to Brittani Montalvo (Harry), Antonio and Angelina, two endeared great-grandchildren, Gianna and Harry and several nieces and nephews.  Also predeceasing her was a sister and brother-in-law, Lidia and Gavino Pitalis, a brother Marco (Giovanna) and deceased in-laws, Giuseppe and Teresa.

A Catholic Blessing will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 12 Noon at the funeral home chapel. Visitation will take place also on Wednesday, beginning at 9AM.
