Florence Meehan (nee Silvio), 79, a lifelong resident of Hoboken, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 29, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late James Meehan. Florence was the devoted mother to Diane Hand and her husband Jeffrey, Michele Vittorioso and her husband John, and Anthony Meehan. The greatest joy in her life were her cherished grandchildren, Daniel Hand, Michele Hand-DeSena, and Gino. She was the endeared sister of Mildred Silvio of Tuscon, Arizona and Joseph Silvio of Peabody, Massachusetts. Florence was born in Paterson, NJ to Florence (nee Miller) and Anthony Silvio. Florence worked as a Crossing Guard for the city of Hoboken for many years before becoming the Supervisor of Crossing Guards prior to her retirement. She was also a proud member of the Columbiettes Hoboken Council of the Knights of Columbus. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
