Elizabeth Miranda Forman (October 12, 1930) – (July 14, 2025), trailblazing matriarch and pillar of the Hispanic community. Born in Corozal, Puerto Rico, Elizabeth lived a life of passion, entrepreneurship, and community leadership. Alongside her beloved husband, Jerry Forman, whom she lovingly shared 65 years of marriage with, she co-founded the first Hispanic softball league in Hoboken, New Jersey, fostering a love of community among Latin families in Hudson County. A successful business owner, Elizabeth operated several popular Spanish bars in Hoboken, bringing people together and creating a vibrant cultural hub. Her impact extended far beyond her business ventures, as she played a pivotal role in building and supporting the Hispanic community in Hudson County. She was instrumental in helping families from Puerto Rico settle in the area, providing guidance, support, and a sense of belonging.
Her husband, Jerry Forman, predeceased her in October 2018 after 65 beautiful years together.
The wake will be held on Thursday, July 17th, from 4-8 pm at Failla Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken, NJ 07030. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 18th, at 10:00 am. Elizabeth will be laid to rest with her husband at King Solomon Memorial Park, 550 Dwasline Road, Clifton, NJ 07012.
