Eleanor M. Ferrara-Moyler, 63, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ. Born in Hoboken before moving to Westfield, New Jersey in 1987. Eleanor was a devotee to St. Ann and every feast day she was there taking pictures of the statue as she made her way out for the procession. She was the Lead Teacher and Department Supervisor of Mathematics at Hudson County Prep High School, Jersey City, NJ for more than forty years before her retirement. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from Jersey City State College with a Master’s degree in Mathematics.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Wilfred (Willie) (2019), her cherished father Vincent Ferrara and a sister Carol Gould. Surviving is her mother Theresa Ferrara Garretson and her husband Wayne, a sister Maxine Dawson and her husband Matthew, brother-in-law Larry Moyler and Aunt of Sandra DeSando. Also surviving are two nieces, Christina (Kevin) and Holly (Corey), two nephews, Michael and Jason, cousins Mario and Debra Ferrara and three great-nephews. A great joy in Eleanor’s life were her two daughters of her heart, Jennifer Geis (Randy) and Talena LeBron (Louis). Eleanor shared a special bond with her three most endeared grandchildren, Peyton, Griffin and Luis.
A Mass of Celebration will be offered on Saturday, February 15th, 11AM at St. Ann Catholic Church, 704 Jefferson Street, Hoboken. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14th, beginning at 4PM and concluding at 9PM at Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken, (www.faillamcknight.com). Valet parking available in rear of memorial home off Sixth Street.
