Elda Natividad Ampudia, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 4, 2020. Born in Guayos, Cuba she was a lifelong Hoboken resident and spent the last fifteen years living in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. Elda was the matriarch and “Abuela” to everyone in her family. She had a beautiful soul, huge heart and cooked the most delicious meals, welcoming everyone to her table and made them feel loved and cherished.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Jose, her devoted children, Jose and his wife Nancy, Lourdes and her husband John, Ana and Christina. She was the beloved grandmother and Abuela to Briget and her husband Phil, Alana and her husband Bruno, Mariel, Jose and Aidan. Elda will be remembered for her delicious meals made with love, her incredible kindness and generosity, her warm smile, her love for music and devotion to her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, October 23, 2020, 10am at Our Lady of Grace RC Church, Hoboken. Interment for Elda was held in a private graveside service at Weehawken Cemetery, North Bergen, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital will be greatly appreciated by the family.
