Elaine Mary VanDoorn (nee Kearse), passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2020 at the Atrium Health Center in Jersey City. Born in Jersey City to William and Evelyn (nee Hynes) Kearse on November 7, 1927. She began her professional life as a young woman, working well over fifty years for the NY Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company. Elaine was married to William Van Doorn on October 7, 1950. They enjoyed traveling and especially many trips to Atlantic City.  Elaine was predeceased by her loving husband six weeks ago, her parents and two brothers, Jerome and William Kearse. Elaine was so loved by her dear friends, Louise Taglieri and Fran Zampella and their respective families for many years.

Due to the present health restrictions, a Catholic Blessing will take place at Holy Cross Mausoleum where she will be privately entombed with Bill on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.  The Funeral Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace RC Church, Hoboken at a later time.
