Edward A. McLaughlin, age 84, passed away at home on June 22, 2025. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Edward lived a life marked by service, devotion, and deep love for his family and friends.
Edward was a dedicated professional. As the owner of Hoboken Realty Management Company, which he operated alongside his daughter Kelly, Edward spent 50 years serving the Hoboken Community in the real estate and property management business. He was known for his integrity, hard work and kindness, leaving a lasting mark on the industry and earning the respect of all who worked with him.
Edward was the beloved husband of Carole (Farley), with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a family rooted in warmth and support. Edward was the devoted father of Kerri and her husband Louis Cartnick and Kelly McLaughlin, and cherished future father-in-law to John Zuzeck. He was a loving and proud grandfather to Makayla, Jack, Annie, and John Paul, who brought him endless joy and laughter.
He is preceded in death by his beloved son Eddie (2014), who was the light of his life and whose memory Edward held close to his heart. He was also preceded by his brothers Jack, Tom, Joe, and Bill, with whom he shared a special brotherly bond.
Edward was born in Hoboken to Anne (English) and James McLaughlin. Throughout his life, he held family at the center of all he did. He was deeply grateful for the love given by his niece Christine Koelsch and Melissa DeMarco, whom he loved as a daughter.
Edward’s legacy of kindness, resilience, and integrity will live on in all who knew him. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his sense of humor, and his unwavering support for those he loved. His family and friends take comfort in the memories they shared and the lasting impact he made on their lives. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of Edward’s life will take place on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 beginning at 4:00 PM and concluding at 8:00 PM at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken, NJ. Parking is available in the rear of the funeral home off Sixth Street. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, June 26, 2025, 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church. Edward will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
