Dominic C. DeFelice, 96, of Naples FL, passed away peacefully, with loving family nearby on Wednesday August 26, 2026 at his home in Naples, FL. Born in Molfetta, Italy, Dominic moved to America and settled in Hoboken, NJ in 1946. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged in 1959. He married Isabella in 1960 and moved to Carteret, NJ where they raised their family together. Dominic was a tailor by trade, and owned women’s coat factories in Hoboken and West New York, NJ. Dominic loved Christmas and decorating for the holidays and cooking Christmas Eve dinner was something he looked forward to for months in advance. After retirement, Dominic and Isabella moved to Weston, FL in 2000 before finally settling in Naples in 2022. Dominic’s favorite times were spent with family during the holidays and at the beach, bbq’s at the Tiki Hut and the winter months that Roe and Joe would visit. Dominic took tremendous pride in his appearance, he was never seen dressed less formally than in a collared shirt, dress shorts, and a belt– even for a simple afternoon at home. Although 96 years is an amazingly long life, it still didn’t feel like long enough.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 66 years, Isabella (nee: Spadavecchia), his daughter Maria DeFelice, his daughter Patricia Pensabene and son-in-law Joseph, and his loving granddaughters, Madalyn and Kaitlyn. He will also be missed by his in-laws, Rosemarie and Joseph Busnelli, Edna Spadavecchia; his many cousins, nieces and nephews and the entire Pensabene family.
Rest easy Dominic as you join your parents, Berardino and Petronilla DeFelice and stepmother, Maria DeFelice; your in-laws Cosmo and Maria Spadavecchia, Sidney Spadavecchia, your nephew Dominic Busnelli and many other loved ones in Heaven. You were loved and adored by so many, touching the lives of so many.
Viewing to be held Wednesday, Sept 2nd, from 4-8 pm at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken, NJ. Parking available in rear of memorial home off Sixth Street. Funeral Mass will be held Sept 3rd, 10 am at St. Ann’s R.C. Church. Entombment, Entombment Fairview Mausoleum.
