Dominic Busnelli, 48 of Hoboken, NJ and Atlanta, GA passed away suddenly on April 4th, 2022 breaking the hearts of his loving family who often referred to him as the “Prince”. Born and raised in Hoboken, NJ he attended St Peter and Paul school and later graduated from Xavier High School in NYC. Dominic had a very tight circle of friends who he considered brothers and maintained lifelong friendships. He worked in financial services for 25 years before embarking on his lifelong dream to work with animals.
At the age of 47, he left his corporate career and started a mobile dog grooming business in Atlanta, GA with his partner, companion and fellow animal lover, Gail Shamp, also formerly from Hoboken, NJ. Dominic found joy and happiness caring for animals and demonstrated his love for them by filling his Facebook page with photos of his pets (Deebo, Fern, Sushi, Sidney, Eug. and Martini) and many of his animal clients. He will forever be remembered for his infectious smile, laugh, tenderness and the ease with which he loved everyone he met. Dominic left this earth doing what he loved and was genuinely happy.
Dominic leaves behind a truly heartbroken family, who all share the greatest love for him and each other: his parents Rosemarie (nee Spadavecchia) and Joseph, his sisters Rosemarie and Natalie Alonso, brother-in-law Henry Alonso, nephews Xavier and Oliver Alonso, aunts and uncles Isabella and Dominic DeFelice, Edna and Sidney (predeceased) Spadavecchia, cousins Patty and Joseph Pensebene, Maria DeFelice, Mark Spadavecchia, Kaitlyn and Madalyn Pensebene, Mikaela and Sean Spadavecchia and several loving 2nd cousins and extended family.
Dominic will live on through the many lives he touched and through all of the incredible memories held by many. The outpouring of love received confirms just how very special and loved Dominic is and the impact he has had on so many lives. He is now in a place where there is unlimited pizza, dogs, WWF, GI Joe and Star Wars action figures. Rest easy Dom as you join your Uncle Sidney and other loved ones in Heaven.
