Obituary

David Orefice, 33, of Hoboken passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Hoboken University Medical Center. As a young man David served the lord as an altar boy at St. Ann’s Church with Father Francis. He became a parishioner at St. Francis Church and built a strong relationship with Monsignor Paul Bochicchio in which he was extremely grateful for and David truly loved him. David then caught the acting bug when he attended Demarest Middle School and acted in numerous school plays. He decided to pursue it more seriously and landed small parts in two movies. “Rules for Men” and “Mail Order Bride”. Then two Short Films “Soul Exchange” and “This is Why”. He also had a great part in an off Broadway Play “Hobo Christmas” he also performed in “Oliver Twist” with a local Theatre Company. He had a never-ending love for music and could tell you anything you wanted to know about any musician, especially Bruce Springsteen.

David was such a people person, with a big personality, contagious smile, and the talent to make people smile and laugh led him to the hospitality industry as a server and bartender. He also worked for the City of Hoboken. David loved spending time with his family and he had a very large extended family, and no matter which family member he was with at the time he made them feel loved and special at all times.

David was an old soul even from a very young age he could strike up a meaningful conversation with anybody whether they were 2 yrs old or eighty yrs old. David cared about everyone he was willing to help in any way he could. Always offering either a hug, a joke, or a song to share. David also volunteered at times at the Hoboken Shelter. EVERYONE knew David and loved him. He was called by many “The Unofficial Mayor of Hoboken” He has touched so many lives and will truly be missed.
