Cristino (Tino) Alejandro, 95, of Hoboken, passed away peacefully at home on January 24, 2026 surrounded by his family.
A proud veteran, Cristino served his country with honor during the Korean War as a member of the United States Army. He was awarded two bronze medals and a combat infantry badge.
Born on June 19, 1930 in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, to Adolfo and Andrea Alejandro, he is survived by his wife Carmen Lydia of 58 years, devoted father of Doris, Edwin (Deana) Alejandro, Norma (Rafael) Alejandro, Cristino (Elba ) Alejandro, Jr. Cherished grandfather of Anthony, Dean, Cruz, Briannah Joy, Charlie, Enid, Vilmarie, Jennifer, Cristino, Christian and his great and great-great grandchildren. Cristino lived a life marked by dedication, resilience and love. He was known for his quick wit, infectious laughter and unwavering kindness. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and was lovingly described as the “Best Dad and Abuelo ever”.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026 from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken. He will be laid to rest at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
