Cecilia Zabala, 85, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, surrounded by love. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jorge Cruz (2005). Cecilia is survived by her two loving daughters and their partners, Maria and Enrique Peralta, and Lina and Ceasar Vasquez; her devoted sister, Carmen Zabala; and her most cherished grandchildren, Olivia, Sabrina, Manuela, and David, who were the light of her life.

Born in Palmira, Colombia, Cecilia lived a life filled with faith and love. A devoted homemaker, she dedicated her heart and energy to her family, always nurturing those around her with warmth, wisdom, and endless generosity. Affectionately known as Chila and Abuela to many, she radiated kindness and found ways to connect with everyone, even across language barriers. Her presence filled every room with love and laughter.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life during a Memorial Visitation on Tuesday, October 28, from 4–8 PM at Failla-McKnight Memorial Home (533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken, NJ).

A Memorial Mass will be held the following morning, Wednesday, October 29, at 10 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church (308 Jefferson Street, Hoboken, NJ).

Cremation will be private.

Cecilia will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Her spirit of love, faith, and quiet strength will live on in every heart she touched.
