Obituary

Carmen Lopez (nee Talavera), 82, of Hoboken, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 26, 2022.  She was the beloved wife of the late Willie Lopez Perez.  Devoted mother to Wilson Lopez, Heriberto Lopez, and Viviana Rivera and her husband John.  The greatest joy in her life were her grandchildren Yoliana, Andrew, Nathaniel, Angelica, Yaneli, Jadelyn, and John William, her late great grandchild Ethan Morales and her great grandchildren Emily and Emmanuel Morales. She was the endeared sister of Matilde Fantauzzi and her late sister Monserrate Talavera. Carmen was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to Bernarda (nee Rosario) and Pedro Talavera. She was a loving aunt to all of her nieces and nephews.

She was a Hoboken resident for 66 years she also worked for the Tootsie Roll Factory.. Carmen loved spending time with family, friends and her church community at St. Peters and Paul, Hoboken.  She worked tirelessly to provide the best opportunities for her children.  Carmen will be forever known for her warmth, compassion, and love she had for all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and will be forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 beginning at 6 P.M. and concluding at 9 P.M.  Funeral Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.  Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
