Carmela Lisa (nee Romano) 88, of Hoboken passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Holy name Hospital in Teaneck.
Carmela was a retired seamstress with various clothing manufactures in Hoboken for many years.
Carmela was born in Monte San Giacomo and immigrated to Hoboken in 1975.
She was a woman of great faith and worked diligently to raise a loving family here in the United States.
Carmela was predeceased by her devoted husband Giovanni in 2016 and a cherished daughter Antonietta Notaro in 1995.
Carmela was predeceased by a brother-in-law Giuseppe Rizzi.
Surviving are three cherished daughters Rosetta Caporrino (Pasquale) Giuseppina Lisa (Raffaele) and Patrizia Cioce (Pietro) and an endeared son in law Eugenio Notaro.
She also leaves to mourn her passing her sisters Francesca Rizzi, Antonietta Aluotto and brother-in-law Giacomo, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Carmela will be sadly mourned by her loving grandchildren Angelo, Maria Michela, Mark, Stephany, Salvatore, Giovanni, Antonietta, Joe, Michael, Giovanni, Antonio and Isabella.
She was blessed with three great grandchildren Nicholas,Vincenzo, and Marcella.
She also leaves to mourn her cousin Rosetta Podeia and family.
Visitation will be held on Friday November 22nd, 2024 beginning at 4:00 PM and concluding at 9:00 PM at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home.
The Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Ann’s RC Church on Saturday November 23rd, 2024 beginning at 9:30AM.
Entombment will follow at Bergen Crest Mausoleum in North Bergen, NJ.
In Lieu of flowers donations to American Heart Association or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
