Obituary

Antonia Modugno, (nee Mancini), of Jersey City, formerly of Hoboken. She was born in Molfetta, Italy and came to Hoboken in 1954. She moved to Jersey City some forty years ago. She was a Retired Seamstress for The Grace Coat Company in Hoboken for many years and a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Antonia lived her entire life with a powerful devotion to her namesake, St. Anthony. Beloved wife of the late Giovanni (2017). Cherished and loving mother of Rose DeSantis and Grace Filardi (James). She was predeceased by an endeared son-in-law, Anthony DeSantis, four brothers and one sister. She was the proud grandmother of Joseph and John (Nicole) DeSantis and Matthew Filardi. She will be sadly missed by her endeared great-grandchildren, Anthony, Jack and Nicholas. She also leaves to mourn her passing several nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Ann Catholic Church, 704 Jefferson Street, Hoboken on Monday, August 3, 2020 at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to meet directly at the church, no later than 9:45AM. There will be no visitation prior to the funeral mass. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories, Washington Township, New Jersey. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2020, beginning at 4pm and concluding at 8pm at Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken. Memorial contributions to: Alzheimer’s New Jersey, 425 Eagle Rock Avenue, Suite 203, Roseland, New Jersey 07068 will be greatly appreciated by the family. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home. Valet parking available off Sixth Street.
