Ambrose “Amby” J. Hildemann, of Point Pleasant, NJ, entered into eternal life on April 23, 2026.  Predeceased by his brother, John Hildemann and his sister, Margaret “Margie” Hildemann-Lear, and his parents; John and Margaret (Peg) Hildemann.

Amby was born and raised in Hoboken, NJ.    He was a member of the young dems, and was affectionately known as an “unofficial Mayor of Hoboken”, and a member of the Hoboken Elks Lodge 74.  Amby was a clerk with the Jersey City Postal Service for 36 years.

A celebration of Amby’s life will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a Catholic Blessing at 2:30 PM, at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken.  Parking is available in the rear of the funeral home off Sixth Street.
