Zoe (nee Martinez) Jaramillo, 75, of Hoboken passed away on May 3, 2021, in the presence of her loving family. She was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador to Virginia (nee Sanchez) and Jorge Martinez and immigrated to the United States in 1970, setting roots in Hoboken, NJ. She was the beloved wife of the late Clemente Jaramillo (2020) and she leaves to mourn her passing her cherished daughter Alexandra and her husband Daniel Murphy, and her loving son Marlon and his endeared companion Holly Hassinger.
Zoe was a homemaker, who devoted her life to taking care of her family in a multitude of ways. As a strong mother, Zoe made the pursuit of knowledge paramount and would never let her children forget that education was the key to unlocking all the opportunities in life. Zoe had a passion for cooking and enjoyed passing her leisure time reading periodicals or watching PBS shows on cooking; her favorite chefs being Lidia and Nick Stellino. She was raised Roman Catholic and instilled that same faith into her children. Much like her husband, Zoe was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Grace for more than 50 years. Lastly, she was a proud US Citizen and felt blessed to call America her home.
The ultimate joy in the golden years of her life was her grandson Charles Anthony Murphy, who she loved dearly.
She is predeceased by six siblings, Catalina, Irene, Jorge, Isabel, Victor, and Victoria. In remembrance, her esteemed cousin Walter Andrade and his surviving loving family in California.
