Robert “Bob” Edward Rugar, 79, of Hoboken passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Alaris Health Center in Kearny, New Jersey. Born in Jersey City. Robert proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1967. He worked as a coffee bean roaster at Sara Lee in Moonachie, New Jersey. Robert enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Elco Rod and Reel Fishing Club. He was predeceased by his parents Esselstyn and Anna (nee Powanda) Rugar. Also predeceased by his beloved wife Julianne (nee Citro) and a sister Gladys Brinkerhoff. Surviving are his two loving daughters, Justina Rugar, Tanya Rugar and James, Sr., a sister Carolyn Foca, nieces Debbie and Gwyn, nephews Joseph, Gary, and Tim. A great joy in Robert’s life were his cherished grandchildren Kyla and James, Jr.
Visitation for Robert will be on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 beginning at 4PM and concluding at 9Pm at Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken. Valet parking available in rear of memorial home off Sixth Street. Private Cremation.
