Obituary

Mildred R. Romano (“Millie”), 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 27th, 2023 at the Reformed Church Home in Old Bridge, NJ.

She is predeceased by her parents, Mary and Joseph Romano, brother, Patrick J. Romano, nephew, Nicholas Romano, and sister-in-law, Anna Romano.

Millie is survived by her brother, Nicholas T. Romano, sister-in-law, Beatrice Romano, nieces and nephews, Patrick R. Romano (Stephanie), Lorraine Johannessen, Ann Marie Daniel (Paul) and Joseph A. Romano.

She is also survived by great nieces: Jennifer Johnson (Ryan); Nicole Romano (Falco); Patrice Daniel; Brittany Romano; Gina Daniel; Taylor Romano; Elaina Romano; and great-great nephew, Ryan Johnson. Extended family includes Sylas Navar (Lelani) and Logan and Kayla Navar.

Millie was born in Hoboken, NJ and lived many years in Carteret, NJ. She went to work straight out of high school for Bell Atlantic and retired after many years of service. One of her great joys in retirement was helping to coordinate the NBA All Star games. She traveled extensively with family and friends and enjoyed spoiling her nieces and nephews. A beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, she will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be held at the Failla-McKnight Memorial home; 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken, NJ on Thursday, March 30th, 2023. Beginning at 4pm and concluding at 8pm.

Parking available in rear of memorial home. Off sixth street, between Park Avenue and Willow.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Ann’s RC Church, 704 Jefferson Street, Hoboken, NJ on Friday, March 31st, 2023 at 10am.

Interment will follow the service at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ.
