Obituary

Loretta A. Santore (nee Lopian), age 91, of Hoboken, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 10, 2021.  She was the beloved partner of the late Charles Lobue.  Loretta was the devoted mother of the late Michael Anthony and Anthony Michael.  The greatest joy in her life were her grandchildren, Loretta Santore Centano, and her husband Danny, Jeanie Santore, and Bridget Mendoza.  She is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by many siblings.  Loretta was born in Hoboken, NJ to Bridget (nee McCue) and Francis Lopian.  Loretta always had a passion for culinary art.  Earlier in her career, she worked at Herold’s Bake Shop before working as a Chef at The Stevens Institute of Technology.  Loretta’s love for her family was boundless.  She was famous for her cooking especially her sauce and meatballs.  You could always find her in the kitchen whipping up big meals for friends and family.  Her laughter and sense of humor will never be forgotten.  She lived life to the fullest and will always be remembered for putting a smile on everyone’s face.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 15 beginning at 5 P.M. and concluding at 8 P.M. at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken. Funeral Mass Wednesday, June 16, 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church, Hoboken.  Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
