Obituary

Jack J. Sweeney Jr, 68, of Hoboken passed away suddenly and peacefully at his home on Tuesday May 24, 2022. Born in Jersey City. He lived most of his life in Hoboken.

Jack was a loving father, husband, Pop Pop, brother, uncle, and friend to everyone. Nothing brought Jack more joy than being surrounded by his family and nothing made him prouder than becoming a Pop Pop to his three beautiful grandchildren Nicholas John, Dominic Anthony, and Zachary John. They brought him pure joy.

Jack served his country in the United States Airforce. Jack owned the Character Club in Hoboken for many years.

Surviving is his loving wife of 50 years Margie Sweeney. Jack was an amazing and proud father to his two sons John J Sweeney and Timothy Sweeney. Jack is survived by his loving and devoted sisters Kathleen Sweeney, Darlene Castillo, and Deborah Scerbo; his beautiful daughter in laws Stephanie Sweeney and Katherine Sweeney; he also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he loved so much. 

Jack poured his love into everyone that he met. He taught his family the value of a picture, the importance of a family, and he always made sure to tell you how proud he was of you. He was everyone’s biggest cheerleader in life. 

A memorial funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s R.C Church in Hoboken on
Saturday June 4, 2022, 9:30am
