Genevieve Monaco nee Repetti, 98, a lifelong resident of Hoboken passed away on April 28, 2022 at Spring Hills in Wayne, NJ.

Genevieve was predeceased by her husband, Charles, of 49 years in 1994. She was also predeceased by her parents Daniel and Teresa nee Nobile and her son James.

For many years she worked alongside her husband in their luncheonette on Madison Street in Hoboken. She also was employed by Hostess Cakes in the 1950s.  

Surviving are her devoted daughter Genevieve “cookie” retired Hoboken School teacher and loving son in law James “Jack” Tuminaro, retired Hoboken Police Captain. Grandchildren James Monaco Jr. Jay Tuminaro and his wife Gabriella Damiano Tuminaro, and great grandmother of Dominick and Lilianne Tuminaro with whom she loved spending holidays and special occasions.

The children also enjoyed visiting her at Spring Hills where many staff and residents knew their names. Some residents always had treats for them as well as fun conversations. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Genevieve was so loved by all who knew her and her kindness and compassion knew no bounds.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 1st from 3PM-6PM at Failla McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue Hoboken NJ 07030. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by her Godson and Nephew Reverend Sam Monaco at St. Ann’s RC Church at 11AM on Monday, May 2nd. Followed by Entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
