It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Lynch (nee Maloney) a lifelong resident of Secaucus, who left us peacefully on July 26th, 2024, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 17th, 1935 to William and Brigita (nee Betillo) Maloney.
A graduate of Union Hill High School, she went on to work for several companies before retiring from the Town of Secaucus as a Court Clerk and Construction Department Assistant. Diligent, hard working and always going above and beyond, Frances was held in high regard by everyone she interacted with. Always trying to keep her mind sharp, she volunteered in the offices of Riverside Hospital in Secaucus and St. Mary’s High School in Rutherford. She was a member of the Secaucus Golden Age and Holy Rosary Society.
Fiercely independent and adventurous, she would travel everywhere by bus and train, and later included her grandchildren on her many trips. Frances was always proud of the accomplishments of her family and compiled scrapbooks of all their achievements. She never let an important event pass without sending a greeting card to family and friends and all were lucky to receive one of her crocheted blankets.
She leaves behind many cherished loved ones who will miss her dearly. Frances was the loving wife to the late Michael Lynch, devoted mother of William Lynch, Brian Lynch and his wife, Renee, Theresa Pisano and her late husband, Mark, Eileen Losurdo and her husband, Donato.
The greatest joys in Frances’ life were her cherished grandchildren, Michelle Hopkins and her husband, Auzzie, Nicole Pisano, Michael Losurdo and Arianeh Hamzelou, Frank Losurdo, Carmela De Bari and her husband, Michael; as well as great grandchildren Amaya and Isaiah Cobb.
She was the beloved sister of John Maloney and his wife, Emily, the late William, Thomas, James and Rosemarie Maloney; treasured aunt and cousin. Frances will be fondly remembered as “Nanny” to a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 29th, 2024 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken, NJ.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, July 30th 2024 beginning at 10:45am at Immaculate Conception Church, 1219 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ followed by entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you honor Frances’ memory with donations to her special charities, The St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/give.html and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center https://giving.mskcc.org/
